May is Ultraviolet Awareness Month

Studies show that long-term exposure to bright sunlight may increase the risk of cataracts and growths on the eye, including cancer. UV rays reflected off sand and water can cause eyes to sunburn, potentially resulting in temporary blindness in just a few hours.  In support of Ultraviolet Awareness Month, WVEC wants to remind all patients that polarized lenses provide crisp, glare-free vision for tons of outdoor activities in our beautiful Mountain state.  Stop by any of our Optical shops where one of our friendly Opticians can help you choose the right pair of polarized sunglasses.  Read more about our excellent frame lines, Optical shop locations and friendly Opticians here:  West Virginia Eye Consultants Optical Shops
